The dark is in the night,
Where you don't have the sight,
Creatures in your closet,
Under your bed and in your head.
The doors have just been locked,
And your house is silent and still,
Not a noise or movement,
But then you feel a chill.
Your sitting on your bed,
Curled up in a ball,
A monster is waiting for you,
Then you begin to cry.
You scream for your mom,
You yell it twice,
But she doesn't do this,
Why won't she answer?
An hour has passed since the dark over came,
You have schizophrenic visions in your brain,
You begin to hear a whispered refrain.
Mommy, mommy, in the dark,
Mommy, mommy, the dog just barked,
Mommy, mommy, cold in her bed,
Mommy, mommy, are you dead?
Something is waiting,
A demon of sorts,
You dare not make a noise,
In the silent house.
A scream is heard from your brothers bedroom,
Nobody comes to check,
You get a little courage,
To wake up from the nervous,
And check on your brother,
Who screamed in his bed.
You look through the hallways,
Running so fast,
Blood leaks under his door,
All over the floor.
You open it fast,
To a ghastly sight,
You're brothers is dead,
In the darkest of night.
You can't tell what killed him,
With arms and legs gone,
But you do know for sure,
You hear a similar song.
Mommy, mommy, answer the door,
Mommy, mommy, blood's on the floor,
Mommy, mommy, they're already dead.
Mommy, mommy, your teeth are blood red.
Screaming and running for your mother to help,
You bang on the door with a crying yelp.
Help me, help me, he's been murdered!
A cry from the bedroom,
Responds to your phrase,
Darling, darling, listen so close,
Go back to sleep,
It will be for the most.
Now darling, darling,
It's not that he's dead.
He's just covered in something blood red.
You can't make her understand the sight that you've seen,
You yell right back, through the opaque screen,
Mommy, listen, his heart is not beating,
He's in pieces, scattered about the room,
Please come believe me, come quick and come soon,
My brothers dead body lies still in his room.
You run for a crow bar, to break down her door,
You have to get in, for the sake of your life,
With the blood on his floor.
You get the tool,
You smash the door down,
You scream at the sight,
Of your mother in her night gown.
She's tied, to be quartered,
She's crying for help,
She's being possessed,
By the creature that says,
Mommy, mommy, your eyes are so black,
Mommy, mommy, get up and get dressed,
Stop crying now, you're only dead,
And covered in liquid colored blood red.
She's chained on her bed,
Something is in her,
Attacking,
Murdering,
She's definitely gone.
But still she's moving,
And screaming about,
Rejecting the demons,
Alone in her nightgown.
She cries for your name,
To do something or help,
But instead, you run back to your room,
So you don't end up dead.
You weep on your bed,
Your loved ones are dead,
Something's already in the room,
And this is what it said:
Don't worry, it's fine,
You'll be all right.
Just go back to sleep,
And sleep into the night.
That was just an hallucination,
You're family's fine.
No-one was murdered, in the dark of the night.
When it stops saying,
These haunting words,
The melody, takes you to sleep.
Lullaby baby,
Alone in your sleep,
But something is tickling the ends of your feet.
You clench your eyes shut,
And hold your knees close,
To live through the monsters,
And save your soul.
Something in the closet begins to laugh,
The tears down your cheek,
Your scared half to death.
It whispers your name,
In a hypnotizing voice,
Calling it twice,
So soothing and nice.
Someone knocks on your door,
Says your name,
In your mothers voice,
You cry for her name.
Mommy, mommy, somethings in the closet,
Help me, help me, I'm scared.
Monsters and creatures,
Possessing demons,
Save me from this haunting treason.
She yells back your name,
In her lovely voice like silk,
To unlock the door,
And let her in so.
You notice it's different,
This time than the rest,
It wasn't just a vision,
Of her on her bed.
She knows where the key is,
Why would she ask?
Something's outside,
It gave you a test.
Don't answer it,
No matter how much it asks,
This isn't your mother,
She's part of the past.
Darling, open the door,
Do it this instant, or I'll have you dead.
You think of something clever,
Something even better.
You tell her so closely,
That everythings fine,
To go back to sleep,
And sleep so benign.
She yells with a voice,
So barely real,
Not of her being,
But something surreal,
With a growling voice,
It whispers of the dead,
I have to get in,
Or you'll be dead.
It begins to pound,
You're door seems so weak,
To the power of possessed,
Wretched that creeps.
You know right now,
That was a bad idea,
To aggravate the beast,
Your flesh it wants to feast.
The creature in your closet,
Begins to laugh now,
Opening slowly,
In it's racecar pajamas.
This is your brother,
This can't be real, how did he get here,
He cries just one tear.
Why was he laughing,
What was so funny,
Why is he so hysterical?
He tells you to hide,
From mother tonight,
It's not safe,
To let her see,
Your living body,
Right next to me.
He said this in a voice,
So very peculiar,
You look to his arms and legs,
Right where they connect,
And notice the missing sound,
Of his ever-so breath.
His limbs begin to bleed, from where they fell apart,
His eyes go black,
His teeth go red,
As he screams for the help,
Possessed by the dead.
The door is cracking now,
So badly it breaks,
The creature standing there,
In your mothers night gown.
Just like your brother, she's covered in red,
With eyes colored black,
And veins pop out blue.
She reaches her hand,
But with long thick fingernails,
You run for your life,
From the scary fairy tails.
She grabs your hair,
Pulls you in,
Looks at your face,
With an angered grin.
Why did you do that,
Why didn't you open the door,
I was so scared,
For the life of yours.
You know so well,
That this isn't true,
Your mother is dead,
And soon to be you.
You tell it to kill you,
To end your pain,
Theres no escape now,
But she repeats the refrain,
Darling, darling, listen so close,
Go back to sleep,
It will be for the most.
Now darling, darling,
Nothing is wrong,
Go back to sleep,
Should I sing your night song?
Replying back with irritation in your voice,
Demon, creature, possessing my soul,
Don't try to fool me,
I'll never believe,
With the sights that I've seen,
The fear I have teethed.
The creature get's angry,
And yells out so far,
That you can't live,
With what you have said,
The words out of your mouth,
Now you'll end up dead.
It's face of your mother transforms so quickly,
Long bloody fangs,
And it repeats your name.
It's eyes are black,
It's flesh rotting off,
It's malnourished body,
Crawls on the walls.
It begins to laugh,
And claw at your feet,
While tears from your eye,
Run down your cheek.
It bites at your stomach,
Your guts pouring out,
It takes another try,
It gets your chest,
You fall on the ground,
You're already dead.
Somehow you see,
Your heart in it's hands,
Which it chomps upon,
With it's skinny, rotting hands.
You close your eyes,
As it continues to laugh,
And you fall back to sleep,
Hearing a melody.
Lullaby baby,
Go back to sleep.
Everything's fine,
There's nothing to creep.
It's all just a dream,
No reason to believe,
Of a monster or demon,
Saying your name.
You can't fight it back,
Your blood stops pumping,
Your body may get possessed,
But your soul already left.
The last words you whispered,
With the last tear down your cheek,
I love you mommy, with all my heart.
But something happened,
And you fell apart.
It'll be okay,
I'm just taking a nap,
To the lullaby,
Of the resting dead.
