Forgotten and Broken

by Tessa Hazzard   May 13, 2013

Life is a gift.
Love is a fortune.
This life, just though.
Was forgotten and broken.
Before you close your eyes,
And drift to a never ending sleep,
Before the wrist is slit,
And blood is all that is surrounding.
Before you close your eyes,
And fade away so quickly,
Before the gun shoots twice,
And your body drops back to the wall.
Before you feet are dangling,
And the rope is swinging gently.
Before you start the video,
And give out all your last goodbyes.
Before you write the note,
To tell your family you love them.
Before you say sorry,
On the telephone when they're too far to save you,
Before you close your eyes,
And drift to a never ending sleep,
Begin to cry,
Begin to weep,
Before you say I'm sorry,
Say goodbye,
And bury all the rest.
Tell your parents it's for the best.
Tell your friend you love them.
Remind them all it's not their fault,
Only to blame the ones that hate you.
Life is a gift,
Love is a fortune.
Hate is society,
Leaving you broken.
When you give up.
When you say sorry.
When you leave your life behind,
And take your soul to fly.
When you do these,
and everytime you cry,
you think of the world.
Then it's time to die.
Life is so cruel,
Making us weak and lonely.
People are rude,
They tell you they hate you.
They call you a waste.
Carrying your labels,
You can't take the weight.
Life is a gift.
Love is a fortune.
This life, just though.
Was forgotten and broken.
