Summer Time

by Daylight Lucidity   May 13, 2013

I watch feathers fall
Upon emerald green grass
While creatures lazily crawl
Next to a lake of glass.
A summer day's heat
Growing with more intensity
Boiling the street
With haunting humidity.
I sit under the sky
Watching the moon wane
The night's beauty shy
As it tires like a flame.
Fireflies buzzing about
Brightening the darkness
With each child's shout
Of joy echoing sharply.
Dreaming of tomorrow's splendor
As summer blooms silently
And with each morning's dew registers
With each step into heat.
Blanketed by family
Barbeques oozing tempting aromas
Sprinklers spraying playfully
With each outing's comforting aura.
A book in hand
While rocking on a porch
I enjoy this chance
To walk through summer's door.

WOW i love the very words describing this BEAUTIFUL place and i really love the first line cause i REALLY love feathers since i relate it to wings and it's cute the flow was nice and the words rhymed with ever second line and some unforgettably the flow to that shattered but it's still very nice!

A beautiful description of a typical summer's day, fading into an equal fine evening and the expectant anticipation of another to follow, very well written, rhymes & flows so eloquently!

Just wish there was some of that weather coming my way!!
