That was the Day.

by Peter   May 17, 2013

In a crevice I do not cry,
Or feel emotion I don't know why.

Although my thoughts bring back a blade,
That once so swiftly came to my aid.
It's tip would smoothly kiss my thighs,
As I shamefully closed my eyes.

The strokes varied from fast and slow,
Depending on the strength of what I must let go.

Two screams of once maternal voices,
Echoed through the streets they made bad choices.
Whimpers be heard when no one speaks.
This had been coming for many weeks,
For the very density of the air,
Was separating something that once was a pair.

No one ever knew why,
That was the day I said good bye.
