Saying the Truth Evaporates the Friends [String Senryu]

by Khalid M Darwish   May 17, 2013

Want to keep silent,
just to live, but seeing faults
makes me want to speak

looking for the truth,
with whatever price, made me
no longer have friends

permanent friends lost
because saying the truth costs
things to sacrifice

I know this all too well, Khalid. I've lost a few friends in the past for speaking the truth... but I would rather tell the truth and hurt someones feelings than tell a lie and spare. Lies always come back to bite you in the butt while the truth is always right.

They will soon realize that truthful friends are hard to find, they will learn the hard way it seems.

My father has always told me that 'you are lucky to go through life with one true friend' and I'm a strong believer in that! I can count my true friends on one hand and still have fingers left over! lol

    Lovely piece!

Those friends who dont like a truth from their friend are not true friends, the true ones would want to know them themselves.
    Really good write, love it:)
