Let Me Help

by Daylight Lucidity   May 21, 2013

Lavish curtains swirl around my silhouette
Red against black
Covering the writing on the walls with flecks of embers
From the fire in my chest.

I want to help, all of me yearns to take the pain away
But how can I, with this helpless care,
If I don't know what to say,
If I don't know how it got there?
You mean more than you think
In my eyes of glistening sapphires
And I would hate to see you sink
In the vengeful waters capturing your heart.

Please, let me help you, let me help take away the hurt
I promise I won't hurt you, I could never,
But you have to let me first
For you I'd face the hardest endeavor.
I hate seeing you ache,
If you let me help,
I'd hold you together so you won't break,
But only if you want me to stay.

Please, let me help you.
