Paper Moon

by Lemon   May 21, 2013

The night is lonely
The cold air brushes its fingers across my skin
Plays with my hair
Wraps me up in an embrace
But my heart is still hung with solitude;
A moth in a city of ants
Desolate, not fitting in
Staring up at the night sky
My gaze resting on the paper moon
My one true salvation

    I loved this title, as well. You created something very serene and beautiful nature setting yet has that melancholy feeling.

    Lovely write!

    Strong and consise poetry there, Lemon. The beat is slow and the words have a certain eerie ring to them that gave me a slight case of the chills. Well done indeed!
