Shallow victories satisfy a shallow brain |
This reminds me of when people do/say certain things just for the attention, or for their own selfish desire. Like someone trying to sell something for more than it's worth or sell it and it's broken... knowing it's broken but don't care as long as they get the money....like a rip-off car salesman. |
This poem is neat, when you think about it, people like these are empty inside and remains that way because they can't see outside of their wants, needs, and desires. I like this poem because it makes me think of times when I have bought things or did things trying to attain happiness of some sort, only to feel empty thereafter because processions or titles don't bring true satisfaction. |
I like the straightaway message I can get from this poem, especially when you put it out so truthfully and bluntly. I love that first line! And I never thought of "shallow" and "victories" together, but I agree, even if we honestly win but it's in something unimportant that just boosts us up and does nothing else, it satisfies people who are looking for that superficial word. It reminds me maybe it is an external award they are obtaining, and not something that will further our knowledge and be more heartfelt and meaningful. |
