Insanity and Unsatisfied Darkness

by Ducky   May 23, 2013

The insanity
slowly creeps upon my almost lifeless
sleeping body.
delicate peace, soon
shattered,
like a glass vase
dropped off of a ledge onto
cold, hard concrete below.

A slow fog enters my painful, meaningless existence
but,
I can only be grateful
as it numbs the agony
and
muffles my shrill, bloodcurdling
screams.

If there is some god,
he must have a dark sense of humor.
He must find my pain hilarious;
slapstick gone horribly wrong.

I have become who I despise;
a broken angel in disguise.
Black wings, they were once white,
somehow its not quite right.
blood runs down my fingertips
I don't know how to deal with it...
am I finally allowed to die?
