Alone

by rosey   May 23, 2013

You get choked up,
you close your eyes,
and pray that the world,
will fade away.

Your eyes they burn,
your throat is shot,
your stomach quivers,
your shoulders shake.

Your knees are curled,
up to your chest,
you gasp for air,
let out a sigh.

Your friends will ask,
if you're okay,
you'll fake a smile,
but hurt inside.

You'll claim you're fine,
but they'll know better,
they'll gently close,
their arms together.

Around your shoulders,
you lose composure,
you choke a sob,
and then break down.

Your emotions spiraling,
all around,
you heave and sniffle,
not knowing what to do.

You feel like everyone's,
suffocating you,
then you push them away,
and storm out the door.

You continue to cry,
as you did before,
you stay secluded,
and don't break away.

And now your alone,
and alone you will stay.
