The Bench Never Sat On

by Daylight Lucidity   May 23, 2013

The ripples on the water grow larger
With each fallen leaf's touch
But gives no indication of another
Overlapping its descent to grant serenity to us.
The peace weaves itself betwixt two seats
Upon a bench never sat on
But we dare to sit, we gently breathe,
Its gift of no material, but one of gold flaunted.
It gifted me with you,
One so precious and fragile
That tears of morning dew
Are merely, in comparison, dapper
To your refined and graceful beauty
Like a sun in the middle of the night
Where flowers are stars twinkling fluidly
Within long pillars of light.
Were it not for the leaf that cascaded down
And caressed the water's body like a lover
We might never have found
The bench never sat on, accompanied by a hummingbird
Who's wings flutter in time
With my heart's unsteady beat
As you take this timid, cool, hand of mine
And hesitantly take our seat.
Under my trembling breath I whisper to the wind
A question roaming my thoughts,
One never asked though suggested through kiss,
And will you to hear as we sit in this particular spot
Where dreams become real
And love is free
Where my stomach knots as the breeze tells:
Please, be with me.
