Look Ahead

by Poet on the Piano   May 26, 2013

We're waiting to be on the observation deck
of the majestic Empire State Building,
with all it's wandering colors that light up
a city needing different shades of love.

So do not withdraw from other's heels,
falling back on dusty roads void of
gravel, asphalt, and side-street dreams,
celebrate the strength somehow
gearing you forward,

always forward.

Irises of a warrior, soul of a survivor,
we will first search through the lens
then fight for our own moment in time
where we don't gaze upon life,

we own it.
