Masked Pain

by Daylight Lucidity   May 26, 2013

Love isn't selfish
Love isn't fake
Love isn't helpless
When you are afraid
Arms winding tight
Kisses against scars
Darkened skies lightened
Through plentiful care.
Friends or more,
Either way I'll stay
This I swore
Until the day
You're ready to be
Let go and to fly
From the hands of me
And just knowing I tried
Keeps the smile
On my tear stained face
That all the while
You kept from disgrace.
I kiss your hand
Though pain seeps through
More than I wish to stand
In search of a new
Heart to chain up
And keep from love
But know I'm here
And that I won't go anywhere
No matter the tears
No matter the fears
I wish you happiness
Whoever it's with.
