The Perfect Suicide

by WintersAngel   May 28, 2013

A picture perfect
Silent night
Candles glowing
In the moonlight

Clouds above
Race across the sky
Hide the moon
Make time fly

A gentle breeze
Sweeps by me
Leaves shake
In the trees

Lay in the grass
Thinking of the past
Wondering why
Nothing lasts

Tears of sorrow
Dance across my cheek
I wipe them away
So I don't look weak

Focus on my surroundings
Needing a distraction
Think of anything else
Forget that sick satisfaction

Put the gun down
Throw away the blade
Run away from the sound
Of time beginning to fade

I sit in this graveyard
Pondering my death
Whispering to you
With shaky breath

Should I do it
Should I end my life
It would be so easy
Simply grabbing a knife

Maybe I'll see you
On the other side
Maybe there
I won't have to hide

The moon stares down at me
I know what I must do
Slit my throat, pull the trigger
The whole time, thinking of you

I love the flow in this piece and the simple rhymes; though the rhyming seems to be a bit rough in a few places. The story is told very well, all its lacking is a little bit of imagery. The narration or point of view in this piece is wonderfully evident and executed throughout the piece. Your pull at the beginning was strong and did it's job effortlessly. The ending was conclusive and precise; I enjoyed that fact.

All in all, wonderful write, though it is also heartrending
