Take (Nothing Left)

by Some Random Human   May 28, 2013

Hollow inside,
you cut to the bone,
no place to hide,
even when I'm alone,
these tears I have cried,
this pain I have shown,
the good now has died,
my heart turned to stone,
I swallowed my pride,
please pick up your phone,
come back to my side,
I can't live on my own,
I'm caught in this tide,
I'll reap what you've sown,
my love you denied,
though your sins I'd atone,

Take this broken heart,
out of my chest,
take these weary lungs,
take my very breath,
take these tired bones,
lay me down to rest,
take my tortured soul,
and send me to my death,

I'm hurt, and I see,
that I can't survive,
the end of me,
can't get out alive,
you won't set me free,
in your grip I can't thrive,
what we used to be,
now you deprive,
I tried to flee,
but I see that I've,
run into your sea,
the deeper I dive,
you're refusing my plea,
and all that I shrive,
now a refugee,
nothing left to derive,

Take this broken heart,
out of my chest,
take these weary lungs,
take my very breath,
take these tired bones,
lay me down to rest,
take my tortured soul,
and send me to my death,

Hollow inside,
you cut to the bone,
no place to hide,
even when I'm alone,

Take this broken heart,
out of my chest,
take these weary lungs,
take my very breath,
take these tired bones,
lay me down to rest,
take my tortured soul,
and send me to my death,
take this memory,
so I'll have nothing left...
