Freeing the muse

by Chelsey   May 29, 2013

I didn't expect to feel anything when I looked at you.
You were but a mere image behind closed eyes,
yet when opened, feelings came out of their
disguise.

It'd be an understatement to say you drive me
absolutely crazy. I've measured my sanity many
a times and it all comes out to zero. You're the
crime.

My heart begs for mercy as you strike it;
what is it you use? Be it teeth, a sword, your
words; all painful enough to make you my
muse.

-------

Poems turn into prayers; no longer do I jot
thoughts of hope He never wanted me to have,
but beg for new ideas that are a part of His
plan.

I must stop waiting for things that are
never meant to be, but extend my arms
to the future as my feet kick the past
free.

So I release you and fight off all
the memories that declare war,
I'm finally admitting, you are not what's in
store.

Chelsey, this is a poem that I know comes from somewhere inside you, I know your dreams and aspirations for the future, I know that the past holds memories and you struggle with them sometimes, but you have this spirit in you, it's free, you are the definition of a "Free Spirit"

It musters a lot of strength from inside to put the past to rest, to focus entirely on the future, and you inspire me, you are such a sweet, a beautiful person, your heart is so huge and your spirit is soaring, it really is...

You know what you want and you know how to get it, you don't pretend its easy but you fight for yourself, you are an amazing woman.

I love this write, the strength in it, the thoughts you express, how you describe letting go, how you describe the hope fading, but know it's still there, still giving it something to grip...

I love this, and I love you!
