Disappearing Act

by Daylight Lucidity   May 29, 2013

Do you see this smile?
It's one of a girl who can't trust.

Do you hear this laugh?
It's one of a girl who is reluctant to love.

Do you feel that heart beat?
No, you can't, because they silenced it.

Do you see that shadow?
It hides from the disapproving eyes of the sun.

Do you see my footsteps?
They're walking away from everyone.

Do you feel the ice in my warmth's absence?
You'll never be warmed by it again.

Do you miss me now that I'm gone?
No, because you thrive off pain.

Are you happy now?
I disappeared like you wanted.

I really liked the flow. My favorite line would have to be:

    Do you see that shadow?
It hides from the disapproving eyes of the sun.

It's epic. Love love love it!!!!

It's a nice poem but with a rather self-defeating theme! I think you could add these last two lines and make it into a 5/5 'winner'!

'But like the phoenix from the ashes,
    I will rise again'!
