Another good one Michael!

I like the simplicity of this poem. It was short but still gave the message across. It flowed well and the rhyming was good and didn't seem forced.

I liked this mini story and it left me wanting to know more detail and back story into it.
Do I sense a darker meaning in this?

I tend to stay away from rhyme poetry as often as not I find I don't really like it. I was pleasantly surprised then, when I found I really liked this.

From the opening lines I interpreted as someone that had hurt themselves severely, perhaps even fatally. I'm undecided on if the hurt was self inflicted.

"taking candy to his friend
only to meet his sad end "

These lines totally threw me off, as up until now I sensed a darker undertone, perhaps self harm/mutilation, and abuse whether physical, verbal, sexual etc, and all of a sudden it seems like the poem goes off on a tangent with the candy line, and maybe is just something to rhyme with "end."

I could be totally wrong of course and have missed the underlying meaning here but that's what I got from this.

The thing I would have liked to see is more in-depth rhyme, as I found the rhyme scheme you chose to be slightly cliché, which is actually the reason I tend to stay away from rhyming poetry as I often find it can be difficult to stay away from the well known cliché rhymes- flood/blood, tears/fears etc.

On the whole however, I enjoyed this.
