Grandmother

by Chris Cole   May 31, 2013

She set upon a fire,
and she thought about us kids.
She had a heart of gold,
and a whole lot of friends.

Her hair was so beautiful,
it would swerve through the air.
With her walker, cane, and family,
she could get anywhere.

With a smile of joy and life,
a love for us so bright.
For us she would do anything,
each and every night.

She always set in the same chair,
knitting away at that cloth.
She always wore that ring,
that for her I bought.

So much pain and misery,
she was medium height and thin.
I would do anything,
to see my grandmother again.
