Farewell to autumn

by who i am is me   May 31, 2013

Goodbye Autumn
I will miss your falling leaves,
dry,
Blowing aimlessly in the thin
vicious air.
The time of ironies
is behind me now.
Bright midday suns
accompanied
with peculiar frozen sunsets.
Orange and beautiful
in view
yet difficult to appreciate
with the barking noise
of your uncertainty.

In another time,
maybe,
we could have been fitting companions
strolling awkwardly
to some place undefined,
destined never to find it-
and content still,
with just being.
Existing,
Breathing,
Beating hearts
not bothered with reasons
nor purpose.

This time tomorrow,
we will have parted ways.
You in yesterday
and me,
in the extreme of winter's madness.
More spiteful than you,
yet welcome
for the pressing manner
in which she compels one to act.
One is better living
than the other contemplating.

In her I am free
Because I am not.
Forced for passions,
for questions, and
for revelations.
You prepared me well
and always,
will I keep you in mind
when I face these new elements.
There is greater cause
for life than what we had
and I must seek it
in the treachory of tonight's darkness.

Always, dear autumn,
I will remember you.
Farewell...

Wow! This is lovely! I've read a couple of your poetry and the words you use may not be that complex and simple at that, but you have a way with words, and you convey your messages beautifully! I really adore this one so much! Beautiful write! Great job! Hope you write more! (:
