Our European Scene

Along railroads, I can hear the wind
plucking songs from cities and skies;
I can feel its fickleness like a summer
dress fluttering at my ankles, and I can
smell pastures tucking into my pockets
like a sleek carrier of souvenirs.

Soon enough we'll meet again, sweeping
the pavements in a cinematic embrace.

At the train station, you'd always
sway around the crowd, clockwise
then turn around, finding a giggle
behind leafy lips, my fingers curling
at the sleeve of your trenchcoat.

We'd be locked in a picture-perfect pose
of sepia; raindrops tripping over
the canopy, but here we are, steady,
two shadows beneath street lamps.

    Cynnie! Oh how I've missed your works!! This particular poem captured my attention namely due to it's title. How romantic and anything which includes a country's name seems really attractive to me.

    I loved your opening. Your description seemingly simple yet one could see that thought had been put into it. I love love it so much, and I could actually see myself looking at the scene you've described.

    Loved this phrase, aptly described and paints a wonderful picture in the reader's mind.

    Loved the ending scene as well :D How gorgeous, if Taylor Swift used your poems in her lyrics, her sales would hit the roof and explode beyond it ;)
