The One That Escaped.

by Joshualee Finch   Jun 4, 2013

My last tear has been shed,
By earlier tides.
I try to weep once more,
But my eyes are thirstier than the
Driest deserts.
As I think of you once more,
My lips begin to decay.
Love becomes invisible,
Passion becomes vague.

As yet I spend another day,
Reflecting about our past.
My arms slowly wrap around my pillow,
All I need is that one last hold.
I've lost you,
A missing piece to my heart,
As now it's on a flat line.
Death was first my foe,
Now my friend.

Yet I think of all the wonders we could of done,
But you moved on.
You have children, a beautiful wife.
Love, that you stole from me.
I wish you happiness,
Like you wished me death.
My heart will have you printed,
Until my last breath.
I bid you fair well,
To the one that escaped

This is really cute and sad. Life and love are very difficult...I give you 5/5. :)
