Wow, I only recognize if I heard, a few gods of greek mythology, but I know I wouldn't be able to name what they are patron of or their story.... I love learning about different mythology, especially how that person earned that title.

So Acratopotes was the drinker of unmixed wine and was a worshipped hero. I love how you gave such spirit to this piece Landy! You have your opinion and I like the perspective of wine being his "private antidote". It's almost like he romanticized wine to the point where death was just another step he'd take, that it wouldn't be the end of his life.

Short but creative write- I love the idea of this and how you in a way make it short and to the point, like there is no more story to be told, and that this is the simple truth.

Greek mythology is one of the most interesting things to incorporate into poetry. I just love when I see it, there are so many ways to go with it and so much to write about. I didn't know about Acratopotes so I got to learn a bit about him.

Carnal thoughts fast as a rumor was lovely. Also the line about wine being an antidote was very fitting as far as the definition goes. The only thing I know is he was the drinker of unmixed wine who was worshiped.. I was unable to find any more information on him and I may have been overlooking it in your poem but I didn't really see anything else that told me much more, so something tells me this poem may be missing a little something? My apologies if I am.

Interesting thought for a poem though & some of the lines were quite wonderfully written. :)
