Somewhere Inside

by Keeper of the Gates   Jun 11, 2013

It was in a dream
I saw her dance again
Walking in frail steps
Swaying with the breeze.

Enchanted as I was
I tried to capture your smile
I kept running
towards the light of you.

Then I woke up
the girl was me.
Not dancing,
Not smiling.

Despite this delicate sadness
Flickering light of hope
still remains.
Slowly burning within.

This poem is so thought provoking, there are so many ways I can interpret this poem. I feel like you're speaking about a dream you had where you observed yourself in a peaceful state, but once you have woken from your dream you become sad.

    Excellent...5/5
