Trying to walk in beauty

by Karla   Jun 13, 2013

The sky falls
and I am trying to walk in beauty
from Monday to Sunday
just to please Lord Byron.
Destination?
I still don't know but
the extravagance of my thoughts
might lead me somewhere
between my locked memories
and personal fairy tale.

I know I still have to face
some embarassaments ahead
and the insanity of the government
that insists on freezing my pay.
What am I going to do in-between days?
I shall toast my wrinkles and maturity:
they deserve much more than I can give or bear.

Meanwhile
I will be busy leaving and living.
The end is my beginning.
(T.S Eliot taught me that a long time ago)

This is so powerful Karla...it is so hard trying to live in this world, and everywhere we turn, there seems to be people more beautiful than us, but we are all beautiful, and we must believe that,
I love the reference to Lord Byron, it added how the beauty of what we write sometimes is shaded and overshadowed, and cast aside, because everything and everyone is beautiful, inside, there is so much more than what is on the surface.

This piece, just really touched me, and I like how you spoke about the end being your beginning, that every write, is the start of another, how every day ends, and another begins, that time, when everything is continuing, and we still have to try.

    Love this!
