The Matrix

by The Poet Behind The Poems   Jun 13, 2013

"It's too late
The pill travels through your veins.
Do you know where you are"?

My surroundings, masked by amnesia.
Electricity hatches on to my leg;
Climbing to conquer its host.

My eyes open to an alternative reality;
I feel like ... anything is possible.
"Do you hear that"?-

(boom boom boom ).

My heart dances to the beat.
I've never felt so alive;
Inch by inch the music consumes me.

Where has reality gone?
Impossible doesn't exists here

"Welcome to the matrix".

    Wowwww! I love this poem!! You just get better and better! I realllly enjoyed it... I was captivate from the very start! It was so interesting!

    The only criticism I can give for this poem is this part:
    "Where is reality gone?"

    It sounds better as:

    "Where has reality gone?"

    Other than that, perfection!! Well done =D

    This piece has a 'party' theme to it... someone taking pills and then having the effects of it kick it... the adrenaline, the ability to feel like anything is possible, etc.

    I love the added dialogue and the boom boom boom... it definitely gives off the party vibe I was talking about... or something like ecstasy taken at a club.

    Great write, as always! :)

    An interesting spin on the use of drugs. I like it because this could very well happen to someone who took pills. Lovely.

    I like the dialogue in the piece. It adds a deeper element to what seems to be the confusion. The words not directly speaking to what is going on til the end of the poem.
    And drugs lead to confusion and hallucinations which this seems to be about. (Sorry if my original comment made no sense lol)
