The Sad Birthday

by christina   Jul 2, 2004

Wishing you were here,
To see the smile on my face,
On my very special day.
Why aren't you here to wish me luck and praise me well?
Then a stranger whispers gently in my ear,
the words any grandma would hate to hear.
"She couldn't make it, your daughter is dead, so sorry."
Cries broke out silently within my head.
My heart collapsed inside of me.
The world came to a sudden end in my own eyes.
Then all was dark.......

I'm not really a grandma, its just a poem I thought of.
