No Place in Particular

by Daylight Lucidity   Jun 16, 2013

I put out the fire,
Dousing the embers
Grab the keys and sigh
As I sit in the car.

The purr of the engine
Soothes the tremors
Wracking my shoulders
And shaking my hands.
My heart pounds
As my suitcase thumps in the trunk
As I drive on twisting roads,
Leading me to no place in particular;

Just away
Far, far away.

    I thinks the short lines really capture the meaning of the poem. You are hurryin to get out of there and the lines are hurried. Nice parallel :)

    I also like the imagery. It expresses what someone would look like if they were in a hurry and gives part of the story

    But

    Leaves the background story unknown. It's nice and gets the reader thinking. Good job.
