Sweet Sorrow (Acrostics)

by Meena Krish   Jun 17, 2013

She takes me into her welcoming wings
When depression blooms like joyful spring,
Erratic mind blindly walks into darkness
Enveloping my world in complete emptiness...
Tears take refuge in the arms of despair.

Sadness, so tenderly she cares for me
Overpowering the pain leaving me free,
Rape of happiness rest within her gentle eyes
Repercussion of the past taunts my night skies,
Open wounds with every coming tomorrow
Wakes upon the face of sweet sorrow.

This poem is clearly unique. The writer plays with poetic techniques shown through a good use of personification and makes used of a well established and formed structure.
Also impressive is how the half rhymes in the first stanza are directly contrasted with the tight rhyme scheme of the latter; undoubtedly, a fine poet has produced these words.
