Losing to remember

by Mimed Lovette   Jun 18, 2013

I often ask myself
ever since the day you left
where do spirits go?
Is there a certain way?

Do you hang around in places
you find hard to let go?
Or haunt around the edges
you left not long ago?

I stay up every night
and hope to catch a glimpse
of a man still filled with life,
to be reminded of who i miss.

My heart reveals a gap
I never once knew it was there.
A gap which showed itself
with the loss of one I care.

Dedicated to my dearly beloved grandfather, I still feel like you have never once left us.

I think you expressed very well how we all feel when a loved one is lost. I would like to think our loved ones linger around that way they would be close, but then again that would be selfish of me for they have their own journey to take. Or I guess we'll never know until we're there.
