Cup, not Cage

by Daylight Lucidity   Jun 20, 2013

Cage this winged heart,
And it will never fly again
Trust escaping through the bars
Of the frigid metal.

Cup it, and it will stay forever
Nestled comfortably and shielded by fingers
Representing every reason of love woven together
As each soft, pleasurable kiss lingers.

To love is not to claim,
But rather to pronounce devotion
To the person who cups, not cages
Your delicate, angelic, heart's soft notion.

Remember to:
Smile softly,
Love gently,
Hug tight,
And never give up.

Cup the heart, do not cage it.

I like the message here and you worded it in such a delicate way which is quite beautiful :)

Caging a heart is like caging a bird. When stuck behind cold metal it loses its ambition and kinda loses its spark, the drive to keep on. Visions of flying fade from its eyes.

But cupping it gives it the ability to take flight when it feels like it, to spread its wings and bask in the beauty of the earth. It's beautiful.

I love how you give a heart emotions like a person. Nice way to personify something that holds so much in a body.

I love it. Just like all of your work :)
