We send our children out to war

by Ian   Jun 20, 2013

Off we send them out to war,

Ill prepared or not we send them out to war,

We buy them possessions and a few quick items for the life long journey but march them off like solderers, only hoping that they don't return.

We speak of their isolation like a badge to be proud, we boast to friends of their individualism, yes a lovely word for isolation.

off to war they go, never to return with thorns in their sides and scared of the monsters to come they must go and face the dark night.

I nominated this poem for the weekly poetry contest, I am not a huge fan of war whatsoever so this really touched my heart, 100/100!!!
