Little Liar

by Daylight Lucidity   Jun 20, 2013

You told me forever.
You promised you would stay.
You whispered you loved me
Every hour of every day.
You little liar.

Were the dreams of the future
Just a sad little ploy
To tug on the strings of my heart
As if I were merely your toy.
You little liar.

When you kissed me, I tasted betrayal
How you would never look at me
Patting my hand and saying it was fine
Then slip away discreetly.
You little liar.

You put that plastic ring on my finger
Smiling and saying it would be real
One day. Moving on was hindered
After you begged and pleaded for me to feel.
You little liar.

You said you would always follow.
You promised you would protect me.
I am, again, left hollow.
Sick of thinking of you, your arms, your everything.
You little liar.

It will always be engraved in my heart.

I like this. The rhyme is nice and the flow is pretty nice.

But one suggestion, this is your poem and your style but I think the title would have more impact at the end of the poem instead of after every stanza.
I understand the purpose but the words are so strong and for them to be repeated it sort of loses its strength because it becomes a common phrase.
    Just an opinion.

I love the story and the feeling. It's nicely written. :)
