Dalliance

by Hannah Lizette   Jun 21, 2013

Pinched cheeks vine along
a coconut's bungalow,
staining jasmine prints
between a tan trunk
and palm fronds -
weaving her petals through
his feathered hair.

Without a second glance,
hips hook and instantly
create a tropical
hail storm -
a hypersonic cyclone
rests on the gulf
of casualness,
smirking at a
potpourri afterthought.

As Saffie says, the imagery conjured here is marvellous because of the quantity and quality of descriptive language.

    a hypersonic cyclone
    rests on the gulf
    of casualness,
    smirking at a
    potpourri afterthought.

    Love this, by the way.

    Take care, Hannah

I adore how you mix these dances with nature and love together. It is a very rare thing to see in poetry.

The imagery is clear because you pick such descriptive words and I can imagine the dance picking up pace as the flow of the poem becomes faster.

Another great job Hannah, seems like you done well on the challenge!
