Right from the start I was captured by your wording, it just seems so powerful from start to finish.

This poem made me think of a few auditions on Talent Shows, the relationship between the performers, the connection, their flow and effort and energy. You made me want to come and see this act, this scene and see what they were like on this stage.

    Wonderful xx

Wow Hannah, Right off I noticed the title, though it is about "the stage" it can be interpreted with a deeper meaning. Falling in love with dancing or falling in love with another person. Those two sometimes go hand and hand. I loved the tortoiseshell eyes, what striking imagery. Anyways, I can see this as three ways. One, and least likely, they are just dance partners and friends. Just dancing for a contest. Two, they are two strangers who were paired up together and just looking into each others eyes, made them fall in love. Three, they were already in love. I'd say it might be a combo. They were already in love but they fell deeper, because that spark started a fire and set their live ablaze. Though the scene is a dance, they have already won! Excellent!
