Wow! Maryanne this is just so beautiful, and poetic, how you incorporated the dances and got the flow spot on as well, I could vision the dances in my head as I read this...even though im on a work break and can hear the children in the background.

This is just so beautiful. I love the title, so simple but gets across how love can be so overwhelming, like a load of different dances in one memory.

I'm in love with your opening...that feeling of fingertips slowly tiptoeing up the spine, it's sends goosebumps all the way to your heart. The addition of 'poetically' is so nice. It's gives off a reference that he inspires you by doing these things, that you know you will be writing about this moment you shared later... or at least what I got from it. :)

Each stanza represents the dances, first the Viennese Waltz and the adventure. The mountain has became your foundation...maybe meaning that it's been rocky. But inside you are chained to that country road, past memories keeping you there.

I adore the addition of country road, btw. I'm from Kentucky, so when I see a little country flare added, I say "hell yeah" hahaha.

Then, the Bolero (which I thought was SUCH a romantic dance, my favorite out of the contest) ... I LOVE "you slow my thoughts down" ... like the excitement is over, but the romance isn't... so you're just chilling, talking, laughing ... just being together while he strings you, not in a 'stringing you along' kind of way, though. This has so much imagery, I swear. I can see you laying your head on his chest, just listening to the beat of his heart... getting inspired by it (once again tying into the opening, love that.)

Lastly, the Waltz. The imagery you captured here is just so beautiful. This has a time stops... and sometimes it does when you are together with the one you love... you just see them, don't look at the clock, stress/worries doesn't exist in their presence. You captured that so well here.

I love "we spin more swiftly than chasing winds"
and also "we strike our anxieties into oblivion."

Both really stood out to me. Incorporated the dance, and the ending is perfect. It showcases that love can be a great stress reliever, that we can throw our anxieties into an everlasting oblivion.

Ah you did such a wonderful job! The dances are perfectly used among your words. It's as if I can see them dancing while I read. Loved the mountain metaphor.. I feel its so perfect and different like each step is a step of trust and devotion in love. I too appreciated the country road mentioned! Beautiful poem :)
