Oh, The Power of Jealousy

by WintersAngel   Jun 21, 2013

There's a chill in the club
As you walk through those doors
A girl on your arm
I stalk to the dance floor

Grab the nearest hand
And dance with a stranger
Forget the fact
That you're nothing but danger

When I start to tire
I race to the bar
Take a couple shots
But don't get very far

"Nice to see you again."
You say with a smile
I nod and turn away
"Yeah, it's been awhile."

The girl glares at me
I shrug and walk around
Soon I'm outside, held against my will
My face digging into the ground

There's shouting above me
But I can't seem to move
The dark starts to take over
And I figure there's nothing to lose

Then your face enters my blurry sight
Your beautiful cheeks stained with tears
"I'm sorry, she means nothing to me!"
You yell, revealing your true fears

"I love you."
I whisper as I slip into the dark
"Come back to me," you scream,
"You own my heart!"

I remember waking some time later
Your face next to mine
You smile at me
And we go back to happier times

Wow. I love this poem as it is a sad story of something that could be true. I love your memories as they could be happy. The poem itself is amazing though the flow and rhyming were flawless. 5/5
