Last Place

by Some Random Human   Jun 22, 2013

What did I ever do,
what'd I ever do to you,
I was always oh so kind,
all my manners I did mind,
I would tell you you looked nice,
I would make the sacrifice,
I would hurt to see you smile,
but you've left me with this style,
and I don't know what to say,
other than that old cliché,

They say nice guys finish last,
I'd say that's true based on my past,
a kind heart but a sad face,
I'm sick and tired of last place,

I never did you wrong,
I was there for you all along,
but you're not here for me,
that is plain to see,
I would bleed to stop your pain,
I'd be your shelter from the rain,
but you'd just let me drown,
I'd still never let you down,
why must it be this way,
that tired, old cliché,

They say nice guys finish last,
I'd say that's true based on my past,
a kind heart but a sad face,
I'm sick and tired of last place,

Have I ever hurt you dear,
has it ever been unclear,
that I would never leave,
nor would I dare deceive,
the truth is all I've spoke,
yet you treat me like a joke,
and you just laugh at all my tears,
why'd you throw away the years,
that we'd have if you'd just stay,
why must you prove that damn cliché,

They say nice guys finish last,
I'd say that's true based on my past,
a kind heart but a sad face,
I'm sick and tired of last place,

So maybe this is it,
yeah, maybe I'll call it quits,
and say no more Mr. Nice Guy,
no more Sacrifice, I,
think it's time to stand,
and take away the hand,
that has held you up all this time,
I'll no longer be a mime,
and just act in your charade,
I'm not a game to be played,
so forget that old cliché,
I've had enough, I'll walk away,

They say nice guys finish last,
I'd say that's true based on my past,
a kind heart but a sad face,
I'm sick and tired of last place,

They say nice guys finish last,
I'd say that's true based on my past,
a kind heart but a sad face,
I'm sick and tired of last place,
so I'm leaving this race...
