Quit cold turkey, by my "best friend."

by chloe   Jun 23, 2013

The smile curving on my face is nothing but a mask,
The out-stretched arms are brittle and the tension runs high,
I see the fire burning deep within your eyes,
I know you've found a new wide sparkling road,
To carry you to places where I will never go,
I know you think I am useless, regarless of our past,
The many hours we spent talking, the years I won't get back,
And though I feel beaten by the harsh whispers you have spread,
The rumors and the stories about someone you once called your best friend,
Yes, though it stripped me of my mind for a while,
I too have found my new bright beckoning road,
That will take me to places you could never go,
And so I will smile flatly to your fake face,
But your spot in my heart can never be replaced,
Though you left me alone and un-sure,
Though you betrayed me and trampled me through the dirt,
I will always always always care,
For in my heart , you once held a special place there,
As we watch our friendship slowly rot,
You will never be forgot.

This is good because its holds meaning. I willc always have friends like this but sometimes we have to learn to let go and move on from the people that make us hurt. But deep down inside we will always care 5/5
