Whispers of a Shadow

by Daylight Lucidity   Jun 24, 2013

A shadow walks behind me
Whispering, giggling,
Like a child on a
Playground
With innocent secrets.

I turn and steal a glance
And glimpse at a smile
Of someone not really there,
But evanescent in origin.
Lovely and kind, deceptively so.

Its words tangling in my hair in,
The passing breeze
Carrying its sing-song tune
To my ever-straining ears
Which crave its voice and,

Long for the sweet whispers
Of a shadow.
