Fish in thy Bowl

by Blood of a Lion   Jun 25, 2013

A 10 minute challenge for Club, finish time from start of first word, 8min 30sec.

-----

Here upon the water,
I can't remember the dream drop distance of my awakening,
Nor the taste of the food that descends from upper heaven,
But my desire for its sustenance is unquenchable,
Feasting and feasting upon the flakes and specks that rain down,
Raining down as a slow, slow snowflakes,
I go to and fro collecting the things of amiable nature,
Not at all pestering me in the least,

Did I just eat? I do not know.
More I will intake as the flakes descend evermore,
And upon this clear crescent door that is my roof and my floor,
I bob and weave,
Tasting and eating until my stomach itself felt to bursting,
Alas the flakes from heaven continued in their descent,
And I, I in my feasting,
The taste eluded me,
Yet I could not depart from it,
When suddenly to my horror I had feasted too much,
Feasted too quick,
And my guts could take no more,
But my mouth like the monster in the corner,
Sucking in thy holy liquid,
Until I too had become a monster,
Sucking in the flakes of heaven until I could take no more.

Til' alas I was knocking on that clear crescent door,
And upon heaven's gate,
All I could hear were the screams of some giant,
Some monster that I could not even bear,
Until alas, I could not stand it evermore.

Adieu.

Oops, that's what I thought the first time but then I read it again and the monster along with the ending tricked me...

Haha no it was intentionally vague, as it would be from a goldfish who only has a memory of 3 seconds lol

    The fish in your bowl....

I think what I understood is that the fish was eating, then the fish got eaten, and went to heaven.

A continuum cycle, I felt the anxiety and confusion of the fish as if all happen too quickly.

It could have been something different.. I don't know.. I don't exactly find the humour but I think I find the irony.

Actually its supposed to be a story about a pet goldfish whose owner keeps feeding it until it kills it. (happens more often than once) x)
