The Voice

by WintersAngel   Jun 26, 2013

It's in your head day and night
The voice that tells you to do wrong
"You are nothing,
And you will never belong."

It speak to you in your dreams
It starts out happy and fun
"You'll give up soon,
Because you know that I've won."

It haunts you in the halls of school
People ignore your broken heart
"I've done this to you,
You've known from the start."

It's the way you fake that smile
The voice that tells you to lie
"They don't care anyways,
It doesn't matter if you die."

It fills your heart with misery
You feel so cold and alone
"You can't beat me,
There's no light to be shown."

It brings you down
Makes you feel so insecure
"You know the pain so well,
You're no longer who you once were."

It involves a kind of hate
So foreign to you
"Ignore that happy people,
There's nothing they can do."

It's the reason you hide
You feel so withdrawn and empty
"Forever isn't long enough,
For you to stay lonely."

It's why you killed yourself
It became too much
"Finally. You weren't worth my time,
Now you die with Death's touch."

One flaw in the second stanza first line spek should be speaks. I see no other flaws but wow can I say this poem is great!!.

The rhyming is great and the voice is very sad yet hypnotic. I loved how you put the voice as a person as it speaks to you. Very clever there. This poem flows so well as it tells a story from one line to the next. Wrapping it up at the end as it should. The voice destroying its victim. Great write 5
