Little by Little

by Daylight Lucidity   Jun 29, 2013

Lavish promises rooting musings
Upon paper thin hopes,
Digging dreams into glass trust
And gouging out dainty love.

Sprinkling desire within every new crevasse
Where stems of roses begin to bud,
Thorns filed by memories of the past
Kissing the skin of a lover's intention
To bring forth the devotion they so seek.

Their intention, however tantalizing and undeserving it may seem,
Is of the purest, truest love that we all wish
To embrace with time; allowing your chest to heave
With the weight of passion laying over your heart.

Little by little, those crevasses will fill
Little by little, your pain will disperse
Little by little, your trust will strengthen
Little by little, your hopes will become true.

Little by little, love becomes more magical.

I like how you incorporate the title into the poem. It works very well. Adds a lot of depth to the poem really. Fantastically written.
