Wilted

by Daylight Lucidity   Jun 30, 2013

The stem droops,
Reaching for the ground,
Petals falling steadily
With each passing breeze
Killing the vibrant beauty
That once was
A unique little orchid
Whose dream was only
To blossom into something
Worth admiring.

Her shoulders hunch
Tears run like rain
Down pale cheeks
Clutching the orchid
To her chest
Tighter with each sob.

Their dream the same,
They are both wilted,
Dying with tragic elegance.

Wow sweetie. The is unbelievable but sad. I love the use of the flower and the person metaphor. You are both wilted and you both have a tragic end :(. The whole poem ties together well. 5
