Bliss.

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 30, 2013

There is peace in my soul,
when I rest my eyes on the hills where
wild buds bloom and wind calls
out my name.

I tilt my head back
as the rose and gold hues
dance through the sky,
my heart a creek, pure and
with grace,
a poem that flows
all in sweet time.

The air is fresh, and I trace
my worn hands on the grass
that has been kissed by rain,
where few drops stay.

I feel ease and there is no rush
for life to move on in this
land...
a chance to live,
love.

Spring is at my side,
a love I now know is true
for no cold can seep through
its warm art
I search for,
when life wears my
bones down,
hard and coarse.

Words end, night falls with
a soft voice, and the white half
moon glows as light pours
in my bed,
and I draw my shades up
to sleep 'neath its flame;
but it won't burn my skin
nor my soul,
just warm it.

Sun and moon have both come
to the earth with no foul thoughts,

there is
hope, charm
found here...

a true home for all.

My brother once again thought about a prompt for me to write a poem about to be creative on the dot. No time limit but I wrote this is about ten minutes. The prompt: "the beauty of nature". Had to be exactly 200 words, and each word had to be only one syllable, which was such a challenge. Was fun though!

* wrote this while listening to Philip Wesley's piano solo called "Finding Solace".

Nice prompt! I wish my brother's like that haha. I think you did an amazing job. This felt really soothing to me, something to read with some piano instrumentals in the background on a rainy day. It's abstract and I get new and different images in my mind every time I start to read it over again.
