Better Than Waking Up Dead

Still I dream of surrender
After 11 years of living clean,
I`ll never forget those days
Or where I might have been,

Much past the days of craving
And desire to give in,
Each night I fall asleep sober
Is another day I win,

Life is so much better
Being able to feel the world around,
Dealing with every day challenges
Keeping my feet on the ground,

Even though memories may haunt me
The future is bright ahead,
As long as my thoughts are clear
Its better than waking up dead
