Desperate Prayers

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 2, 2013

My hands were stuck together all night
like the fastest drying glue, as I desperately
prayed for her to be okay. My tears sunk
into the pillow as the cotton soaked them up,
like they were drowning in quicksand.

Please God, keep her safe for me, give
her a thousand angels for the thousand smiles
she has given me. Take every fairy in the forest
and sprinkle their magic dust upon her soul, for
she carries the sweetest soul that ever lived.

The beats of my heart are pleading
with the power you behold, hoping
that you will give her time. Please God,
don't take this precious Nonna of mine.

This really is heartfelt saffie. I think prayers are so good because God really does listen. When I think of prayers I think of night time and before bed. I love the way you decribed the prayers and tears. You really did a great job writing your emotion out. I love the cotton soaking them up because I can see you crying a lot. The tears freely flowing and you praying and talking to God. This person is very important to you and you can tell that. The readers can tell and have your heart in this poem. The thousand angels line made me smile. They are ever protecting. I love the child like imagery. You both seem to have the sweetest souls. God will always give you time and if you believe he will help you. :). You can tell how much love because you put your heart into thid. 5/5

This is so very heartfelt, she is in good hands with all those angels watching over her... I can feel the worry and love within your words... I will keep Nonna and you and your family in my thoughts...
