Peacock and the Tree

by Maple Tree   Jul 3, 2013

She wore a tattoo of feathers,
radiant rainbows of
wind angels, and I rode upon
her skirt, rooted in the stars
above.

Night and Day; We mixed
Jimi Hendrix and Little Wayne
together like no other,
dancing till dawn under
a hazy sky of purple dragons
and the mafia man, kneeling
on one knee.

Firemen fanned our flames
as male dancers enhanced
the moon, but more than
laughter was born between
the peacock and the tree-

True friendship, honored
by unconditional love,

Wherever you are, I shall follow,
for I'm embeded in your aura,
and your fungshway bares
the leaves of my rooted
love for you....

What a well written friendship poem with (what seems to me to be relatively)contemporary memories

Andrea, this is beautiful and touching, while a little tear escaped my eye, I also smiled throughout...
I am guessing this piece is about Momma P, and that in itself makes me love it all the more, I can see the two of you, with you shaking your booty and Momma laughing.

I love this piece, really nice to read, you know I've missed your writes, and the ones like this, I've missed the most, where I can feel you in every word.

    :) Love you!

First of all let me say that I had forgotten there was also a glitch in the friendship section...you have to log in again to comment but...it's worth it for this one Andrea!

Your title is so off the wall...why would I not come here to investigate?

This poem is very zanny....very hippy/flower child attitude to it...Mmmm won't ask THAT question :)

It's just so bizzarre it just has to be a happy memory you have of a time spend with a special person...it just reminded me of a place I went with my sister and I had the notion to stand in a window and pretend to be a mannequin ..so I did ...this made me laugh so...thanks for that!
