It Was A Tuesday

by JaneDoeWrites   Jul 3, 2013

Creativity and insanity go hand in hand,
an artist memorizing the number of wrinkles
lacing her clamy palms, feet wandering
the cold pavement lost,
picking embedded pebbles
from her cut up, painted toes and taking
one more drag off this cigarette
to keep the night going.

Valium, zoloft,
a couple addies and a sparks,
remembering the way he rolled
his sleeves down to cover up
the marks.

She's recognizing the path she's on
is a mistake in the making,
self-medicating and writing, doing
anything it takes to stop the
shaking.

She can't breath.

Why is it I only paint or write
when you decide to come my way?
The decision though, always lied with me
I was just afraid to stay.

Such an amazing write! Your style of writing is just beautiful! You have a way and flow with words that just attracts the eye and mind. I truly loved it.

    "taking
one more drag off this cigarette
    to keep the night going."

These words in particular hit home with me because I've been there so many times before. It's great to be able to relate to what I'm reading so well done for reaching your reader.

I don't have too much time to comment but I will fav. You as an author and I will comment on more of your work soon!

    5/5 from me!

Oh darl, I just want to hug you. This hurts my heart, I know it's been a tough time for you...but stay strong babe and try to find better ways, take time to breathe and write if you need to, but don't hurt yourself in any way, it doesnt help.

When it gets hard for you, and people come too close, this person gets into your head, know that you're stronger and you can get there, just takes time.

I am always here, and you can always talk to me. Always babe.

I love you, hang in there
