Trembling Smiles and Forlorn Hearts

by Daylight Lucidity   Jul 6, 2013

Dreams not dreamt are those of which I am most frightened by,
Leading my wandering mind to follow close with hopes of a trail
To guide a lonesome soul home without hindering the sense
Of solitude amongst darkened skies and a starlit night.

The waves of an ocean of trembling smiles and forlorn hearts
Kiss my ankles as I wade through its murky body
Drudging up spirits of loves long forgotten and betrayals never forgiven
Making a serene sea become intensely choppy.

Seaweed clings to me like distant memories, faint but strong,
As I walk along the shoreline and confront my deathly fear
Of drowning amongst beautiful animals and a cool embrace by Neptune,
Allowing the fragile bird within my chest to flutter and panic.

The rocks of the jetty upon which I climb attempt to obscure my intentions,
They stare and they trip my unstable soul and tease it to
The brink of the tears I wish would become extinct
As I grasp onto the driftwood of my long ignored and suppressed pain.

On the beach I crawl and walk on alone,
Trembling smiles and forlorn hearts serenade me like sirens
From within a desolate, dark, threatening sea
Its foamy waves like fingers beckoning to me from upon its sandy shore.

I await the Titanic, it shall take me to foreign, ghostly waters
Where I can finally claim and succeed
In my attempt to be utterly free
From myself.

Wow. in this poem you can tell that there's a lot going on, that you are caught up in something, and you can't exactly get a strong grip on your emotions. nice work.
